Veggie Cities
Think about the future, keep it in mind. In a few decades the number of human beings on earth will rize to 9 billion, 9 billion... That is a lott! Will we have enough food for all these mouths to feed? It is not weird to think that in a few years we will live in 'Veggie Cities' and you grow your own vegetables together with your neighbourhood.
The different way
The past week I took a different route to school. I was riding on my bike and biked throught this little district in Tilburg city. Before, it had been a construction site for a few years. But now a few new homes are standing on the horizon. And between those homes you find lots of green. The district itself isn't that special, but this little garden is.
The vegetable garden
Between all the green, you find you following thing. A garden were you can grow your on vegetables in your on way. Not that a vegetable garden is new, not at all. Back in the time, when Columbus was discovering the world, they probably also did vegetable gardening. What's the new part than...
Gardening in the city
It's cool because the vegetable garden has been almost forgotten by the city people. And now, from the one at the other day, a little garden rizes in a little district in the middle of the city. And with the growth of the human population, 9 Billion in a few decades as I sad, there likely will be a food shortage. That makes the vegetable gardens very handy for people to grow their own food. If there isn’t enough food, why shouldn’t you grow your own... With your little district you take care of the garden. Therefore it improves the solidarity!
Growth of the 'Vegie Cities'
The coming years will prove it, the 'Veggie Cities' will make its name! In a few years there will be coming homes with whole veggie roofs or even greenary stores with these roofs, for own use. You will see it in all kind off forms. Grow your own healthy food without pesticides is the slogan!
With the Vegie gardens appearing in the city, more and more people will grow their own food, together with the neighbours. Innovative forms of gardening in the urban areas will come around in a few years. It is back in business!
