Is it real, or real Photoshop?
Pretending like you are on a road trip through a foreign country. Messing with the reality, lying in front of your own family and friends. But they now everything about you right… You can’t fool your closest friends? Well maybe, from now on, I will not take any picture serious again.
Misled by idealism
What I just said is actually hot news right now! I read an article about a Dutch student, called Zilla van den Borg, who did create a lie about where she was at an exact moment. While pretending she was graduating abroad in Asia, her family was misled by the Dutch student. They had no clue she was actually present in her own dorm here in the Netherlands.
Cutting and pasting
I’m very fascinated about this item. Because how do you make something like this reliable? Well, that problem can be solved in a very easy way. Zilla just took pictures of herself, or she let photographers make the picture. After Zilla thought “Yes, this is a create picture” she would start to photoshop the whole thing. Cutting out her body and paste it in a very busy street in a village in Asia, but in a scarily unrecognizable way…
Fake images
This is not something done out of boredom. Zilla wanted to research the reality factor on images these days. Are people blindfolded from reality because of the fake layer on photos and images? The answer is yes. How many times do we see a picture crossing by on facebook we're all amazed about. But one doesn’t even realize that the upperhand of these images have been photoshopped or at least have been reformed…
Create your own identity
Especially since the last few decades the image world has been evolving rapidly. The expanding power and trends of technology have been an open door really. If you want to, you are able to create your own identity by manipulating images of yourself. Our minds have been analyzing photos much more. The appearance formed in the media has evolved from realistic to idealistic.
The truth is satisfying
This is actually a nice way to show the negative changes in the society. It is a cool informal message against those fake images spreading all over the world. I think, a message that is send in this way, will get the eye of more people than normal informative ones. Therefore, this manner of putting out messages in the world will be used more frequently. And because they will show us the real side of life, it will be good for our quality of life. Finding out an image is photoshopped, will leave us with the feeling that who we are now, is perfect!
