Vertical growing
I think everyone has seen these futuristic photos of skyscrapers which are covered with green vegetation. These ones doesn’t seem to be futuristic, but have you seen an image with an constructed ‘Green tower’ in the real world? It is an idealistic image of how cities should look like. But how can we ad this to our system right now?
Green buildings
When it comes to the term of “Sustainable cities”, one of the leading aspects is the city to have lots of green amongst the city buildings and the streets. But where do we see projects like the green skyscrapers that I mentioned just a second ago... Maybe it’s a step which is too much for the future. Instead, I found a miniature version of these towers.
Vertical gardens
They are called the Vertical Aeroponic Gardens. These smart growing systems have been thought out by Tim Blank. He is a leader in his job. Aeroponic addresses to a process in which plants grow in air without the use of soil. These Tower gardens could easily fit in anyone's living room. Or if that is not where you want it to be, you are able to put it in any room you want. Anywhere it stands, the plants will grow in a good way.
Better than traditional
Not only are the gardens able to fit anywhere and grow anywhere, they are also much more caring than normal veggie gardens. The sustainable part depends on the fact that these systems use 90% less water than traditional gardens. That’s because the Tower Gardens only need air. Also, these systems provide the plants from a faster growing time. The time of growth is cut in half.
Home fitting
The term ‘urban farming’ is highly linked to this new type of gardening. The latest news addressing urban farming has shown us things like rooftop farming. But to put a garden in your own living room, constructed in a new shape, makes the Vertical Aeroponic Gardens one of a kind. They don’t cover much space, so they could undoubtedly fit into someone’s home. People can grow things on their own and in much more numbers, because the growing time is shorter. Therefore, I think that we could see these type of gardens in a bigger quantity in a few years.
